After hearing from Peta, Organic, North America’s largest organic milk supplier, sourcing of milk from this farm suspended.

The report and the subsequent notice of non -compliance confirmed that the farm had a ”High mortality in its calves and heifers“Including from”Diseases that may stem and/or worsen by bad living conditions“And that many of the animals that died at the dairy had never received any treatment of their illnesses. They also found that:

  • The farm had no pain relief medicine available for the calves, it is exposed to painful senior in just a month old.
  • Cows were sent for slaughter in large numbers “Due to low repro and dairy production.”
  • A 14-foot deep grop of liquid garbage — as the warning reported that several cows had fallen in previously left unlacked and fully accessible to animals.

‘Organic’ labels are meaningless for cows

Lone Star Organic Dairy boasted of “better animal welfare” than other dairies on its website. Yet, Organic certificates concluded that the farm “systemically did not comply with the requirements of the national organic program standards” – but later accepted a conciliation agreement that pulled the proposed suspension of its certification and initiated “increased supervision” of the farm for two years.

This is not the first time that dairy, meat or egg companies used misleading marketing like this and depth consumers to believe that animals were not suffering. When humans use animals for profits, it always causes suffering, regardless of the label beaten on animal meat and body fluids sold in stores. Cows are repeatedly impregnated to produce milk. They create milk for the same reason people do – to feed their babies. Workers separate calves from their mothers shortly after birth – and often limit them alone – on milk products to steal their milk and sell it. No matter if the queue’s milk is labeled “organic”, “raw”, “antibiotics” or “human”, mother and baby cows suffer so it can reach store shelves.

As part of Peta’s initiative against Humane-Washing Ploys, we campaign against Whole Foods-Backed Global Animal Partnership and encourage the three “animal protection” organizations that have representatives sitting on its board to step down: Human Society of the The the the the The the The The The the United States, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Compassion in World Farming. Signing our petition and mind these organizations through polite comments on social media that “human” labels are a misleading cheat.
